Platte County Museum Commemorative Quilts – Heirloom and New
Ben Ferrel Platte County Museum will feature the exhibit “Commemorative Quilts, Heirloom and New” to celebrate Missouri’s Bicentennial from September through October 25, 2021. This exhibit will include several Red Cross quilts made for fundraisers in Platte County during WWI and a Missouri Heritage Quilt. The exhibit also features a display of mini quilts (20” x 20”) on loan from Northland Needler’s Guild. Made by members of this guild and Nitetime Needlers Guild, these mini quilts honor “Notable Men and Women of Missouri” in a “journey through the history of Missouri in Fabric.” Ben Ferrel Platte County Museum is owned and operated by Platte County Historical Society. The museum is open Thursdays and Fridays from 1-4 pm and for special events. Due to Covid 19, visitors should call ahead in case of unexpected closure (816) 431-5121.
