Missouri and MSU: Missouri Music, Past and Present
Join us Thursday, July 29 at noon Central time as we continue to celebrate Missouri’s Bicentennial. This is the fourth of seven webinars scheduled in 2021. Missouri and MSU: A shared past. A vision for the future. Click here to view the entire year’s programming.
The July session will focus on topics in the history of Missouri music, and connection to music making today, with composers Marcus Lewis and Michael Murray joined by public historian Andrew Wanko participating as panelists in a discussion moderated by Emlyn Johnson and Daniel Ketter of American Wild Ensemble. The panelists’ perspectives on Missouri music history will be used to contextualize an upcoming tour led by American Wild Ensemble featuring new music reflecting on Missouri’s Bicentennial.
