Missouri Bicentennial Living History and Holiday Shopping featuring Made-in-Missouri

Join us Sunday, November 14, 2021, from 2-4 pm for Missouri Bicentennial Living History and Christmas Shopping featuring Made-in-Missouri: Ripped from the Newspaper Headlines! Historic Sappington House is pleased to welcome Anne Williams’ one-act play taken from letters to the editor in the first newspaper printed west of the Mississippi River, the Missouri Gazette. In 1818 and 1819, the paper printed dueling letters from two St. Louis lawyers and the supposed “Farmer from St. Charles.” Entertaining and informative, the half-hour skit talks about the Missouri Compromise and how Missouri entered the Union in 1821. Then in the Loft Gift Shop decked with everything for the holidays, you will find many locally made items for gift giving. Join us at The Barn restaurant at 1015 S. Sappington Road 63126 for the play and light refreshments at no charge along with shopping. For more information, call 314-822-8171 or access historicsappingtonhouse.org
