Missouri Bicentennial Art Show

Midwest Maifest 2021
Join us on May 16, 2021 for Midwest Maifest: our German Spring Festival dedicated to German culture and our local history. Germans came to our area in the 1830’s. Our goal is to educate people about our local heritage in a fun atmosphere through entertainment, music, information, and authentic food. We have built a maibaum and created a Litfaßsäule which are featured front and center at the festival. This year the Garden Club of New Town hopes to assist by decorating the area with flowers and other traditional floral displays. The festival is a ticketed event for sampling, but it is open to the public, and accessible, for folks to enjoy at no charge.

St Charles, MO 63301
Since the pioneer days of the American Midwest, quilts have been a cornerstone of Missouri culture, fashion, and tradition. In honor of our great state’s two hundred year anniversary, The State Historical Society of Missouri and Missouri Star Quilt Company, in partnership with the Missouri State Quilters Guild, teamed up to create the Missouri Bicentennial Quilt! With one quilt block to represent every Missouri county and the independent City of St. Louis, the Missouri Bicentennial Quilt showcases the unique characteristics of Missouri culture and style.
