Bicentennial Alliance Lecture Series – Remembering Missouri’s most famous generals

Black Jack Pershing led the American Expeditionary Forces to victory in World War I, Omar Bradley led U.S. Army troops in World War II Europe, and Maxwell Taylor led the 101st Airborne Division through the Battle of the Bulge. Learn about these famous Missouri generals.

Presented by John McManus, Curator’s professor of history and political science at S&T.

This lecture is part of the Missouri 2021 Bicentennial Alliance lecture series hosted by S&T.  The series, “Honoring our past, envisioning the future,” celebrates the rich cultural history of our region and explores social and economic growth topics relative to Missourians. All lectures in the series will be available for live public viewing. Missouri 2021 is an initiative of The State Historical Society of Missouri and its Center for Missouri Studies.

Main Chillicothe Street Wine Walk

Main Street Chillicothe hosts two downtown Wine Walks per year. May and October–this year those will be held on May 14, 2021 and Friday, October 8, 2021, both starting at 4 p.m. The wine walks are an opportunity to taste different Missouri wines that are available inside participating stores. These Walks also afford people the opportunity to look at the beauty of our historical shops, as well as the murals that are downtown.  Each mural is representative of the History of Chillicothe.
