Thursday, 10 December 2020 by Morgan Dennehy

The Arcadia Valley Mountain Music Festival is held in the outdoor recreation capital of Missouri’s beautiful Arcadia Valley. Activities center around the historic Iron County Courthouse Square on Main Street in Ironton. The 93rd Annual Arcadia Valley High School Fall Festival Parade, the longest running parade held in the state of Missouri, begins at 10:00 a.m. The Fiddle Contest will begin at 11:00 a.m. and is open to the public. There are two groups:  Junior Fiddlers age 17 and under and Open Fiddlers age 18 and over.  Trophies will be awarded and there is no entry fee. In addition to the fiddle contest, there will be a wide variety of music including Missouri bluegrass, gospel, old time mountain and Americana music. Make your plans to join us October 15-16, 2021, for two full days of music and fun. There will be food vendors, crafters and activities for the kids! There will also be a “special” Missouri Bicentennial display.

Uptown Jackson Oktoberfest

Tuesday, 15 December 2020 by Morgan Dennehy

Join us October 1-2, 2021, in Jackson, Missouri, for the largest German festival between St. Louis and Memphis with food, drink and entertainment. Jackson was established in 1814 with a large number of German settlers and Oktoberfest celebrates that heritage. Many of today’s residents can trace their families back to Missouri’s early days. The public is invited to help celebrate as the city closes several blocks to traffic as Oktoberfest activities take over the streets. Oktoberfest is funded and operated by the Uptown Jackson Revitalization Organization.
